Near Riquewihr

    Many tourists, who had only planned a few moments in their near Riquewihr travel program to devote to visiting our city, are surprised to see so much archaeological and architectural wealth accumulated in such a small space and they regret that, for them also, “the necessities of protocol” (as Mr. Lebrun, President of the Republic, said during his visit to Riquewihr in 1936) do not allow them to stop longer to visit in detail all the curiosities of the old city.

        For the exceptional homogeneity of its ancient habitat, for the soft charm of the reliefs which surround it, for the mildness of its microclimate, which make its terroir one of the most celebrated in wine-producing Alsace, Riquewihr well deserves to be be designated as the “Pearl of the Alsatian Vineyard”.
